My singer-songwriter friend Jillian and I have been trying to get together for a few months to shoot some shots for use in promoting her music. We finally made it happen and despite best intentions we lost the natural light but alas it didn’t seem to get in the way of getting some fab shots (IMHO)! Here a few of my faves, more selects in the next post. Now to cull them down and work up a post card or two!

Foodstock

These shots from a great event near Shelburne to galvanize the No Mega Quarry movement. Top cooks set up in the woods cooking away, great musicians and artists, fabulous people connecting with the land, the food, the music, each other all with a consistent and strong message: NO MEGA QUARRY! Find out more by clicking here. Follow the movement on twitter @nomegaquarry

City Core Late Night Fog

This series shot after attending the Drawn to Develop event at The Distillery District. Went home, changed, grabbed my camera, hopped on my bike and rode back downtown. Series shot between 3 and 4 am on a blustery rainy night…

Nuit Blanche Toronto: ‘Still Life’
Categories: life, toronto Tags: , , ,

Here from Nuit Blanche in Toronto Jean-François Bouchard’s ‘Still Life’ exhibit which was a series of images of life-sized, latex dolls coupled with quotes about how they’ve touched their owners lives. It was surreal as they lined the centre of Yonge Street, image on the front, ‘owners’ quote on the back.

I tend to shy away from creating images that are directly reliant on another artists work but here tried to convey a distorted view of the dolls within the context of the Nuit Blanche crowd passing by basked in the colour of the street.
