Can’t tell what kind of maple this is. Leaves are like a silver maple but they are bright red… maybe a hybrid or some kind of Japanense maple. It’s a pretty small tree, more of a large shrub. It’s on Dupont. Passed by it today on a noon walk about..

Went out for a clear my head 1am walk last night, took my camera as I always do, just a couple hundred meters from my front door on the centre of my street this poor critter met his maker, looked like he fell from the trees above… this is life.
Was compelled to take his picture for some strange reason. Couldn’t decide whether to publish or not, colour v b&w, which frame, what in focus… wrestled with it as I processed the RAW files. Chose this one. Then listened to some music, tried to find a peaceful space, took me a while, never really did fall asleep…
